Autumnal Wedding at Horsley Towers

Horsely Towers wedding venue in Surrey has quite a first impression. I mean, sure I was expecting some kind of tower, but not exactly in the Hogwarts mould. Well, this place has more than a whiff of that wizarding school, with it’s dark, interesting corridors, the hidden chapel, and of course it’s towers which dominate the skyline. This place simply oozes character. A bit like the wedding which took place too (full of character I mean, not wizards).

Incredible

Tear jerking

Bloody f-ing brilliant”

When Fay and Jason got in touch and explained their plans and I got to know them, I really felt like they “got” me. They knew what they wanted, but likewise, being artists themselves they were insistent that I do my thing and that their entire trust would be given. They had chosen an autumn wedding because, well, just look outside at autumn time. October believe it or not is my favourite month for a wedding. The air is usually still warm, but not so hot that I have heat stroke after the days shooting. There’s still plenty of light into the evening and you can almost guarantee a beautiful sunset but you don’t have to wait until 9:30pm for it. And, of course, the colours. Fay and Jason embraced this in every single detail of their day. It’s like they bottled the fall season and sprinkled it everywhere. It was flipping gorgeous.

As I mentioned, Fay and Jason are both creatives, and a lot of the details were created by themselves - right down to the stag head place holders, sculpted by Jason’s own hands no less. I take my hat off to anyone who goes big on the DIY for their wedding, and these guys are no exception. But, all the details in the world wouldn’t detract from the star of the show - their love for each other. They are one of those couples that just light up in each others presence. This wedding was greeted by a chorus of “It’s about time” from their nearest and dearest, and with their two kids watching they finally did it.

Here’s Fay and Jason’s gorgeous autumnal wedding at Horsely Towers in Surrey.
