It's not often I go too far east. I mean, I travel all over for weddings, but besides having shot one wedding in Norwich and spending a summer holiday as kid in Clacton-on-sea, that's about it for venturing to the far east. But, Clacton holiday aside, I do have a fair affinity for the place. Southwold, on the Suffolk coast, is an absolute gem of a place. A real village feel, but with what appears to be an endless beach and a lighthouse to boot, it is quite the place. The Swan Hotel then, was not exactly what I expected.

Refurbished back in 2017, it's pretty fair to say that it raised some eye-brows when it re-opened. I am sure one or two were not fans, but I absolutely love it. A true modern feel, with stylish decor that just demanded to be photographed. I couldn't wait to get stuck in. I met Amy in her room with her mum and bridesmaid and they spent the morning getting ready for the off, before we headed 10 mins up the road to Blythburgh and Holy Trinity Church. If the Swan had the modern covered, Holy Trinity took care of the traditional. A peach of a church with the most perfect light pouring in.

I do's done, it was back to the Swan for food (epic) and a whiff of one or two of the ales on offer from the bar - The Swan is owned by Adnams Brewery which it backs onto. A nice little perk of the job. then we danced, we strolled through town for some sunset pics, and then danced a bit more until. Amy and Matt were a dream couple who just let me do what I do, and I loved every minute I spent with them.
