Wedding Photography in a Southampton Brewery

Bride and groom after their wedding ceremony at Westgate Hall in Southampton

Now I’ll be the first to say that I love the variety this job gives me - the chance to photograph weddings all over the country (and sometimes beyond) and see something new at each new venue is totally amazing, and I’m extremely lucky. However, there is one wedding day plan I come back to again and again and I don’t ever see myself tiring of it. It goes like this - Pig Hotel to Westgate Hall to The Dancing Man. Of course with Southampton being just up the road from me is huge bonus, but every time I shoot this particular trio it never fails to captivate me.

Thank you for helping us throughout the journey of our wedding day and we are extremely lucky to have met you and your talent.

The day kicked off meeting Arantza at the Pig in the Wall in Southampton’s old walls. If ever a place needed photographing it’s this one. Huge windows, wood floors, sublime decor, and the little details here and there make it an absolute dream for brides and grooms to get ready in. Every wedding morning is different, and with only Arantza and her maid of honour Pearl in the room it had a real relaxed feel to the build up. I mean sure, there were nerves, but Arantza is just one of those people who seems to just be constantly smiling. Happiness radiates from her.

I popped downstairs to the bar area to meet Vincent for a couple of pics before heading just the few steps around the corner to Westgate Hall and the wedding ceremony. If you’re looking to keep logistics mega simple, this is for you. After a heartfelt and beautiful ceremony we all headed the short walk to my spiritual home - the Dancing Man.

I must have shot at the Dancing Man 5 or 6 times now and it never gets boring. There is just the most amazing decor, food to die for, and the people who run it are so passionate about everything they do. A little like Arantza and Vincent. Two nicer people you could never wish to meet. I felt truly happy during their wedding day and without sounding cheesy I do feel like we became friends throughout the build up to the big day. I’m a sucker for happy and kind people, and these guys fit that bill perfectly.

Arantza and Vincent. Big love.
