Bigstrup Farm Wedding

A bride and groom share a kiss in a field at Bigstrup Farm in Buckinghamshire after their wedding.

Harriet and Tim // Bigstrup Farm // Buckinghamshire

One thing I love is when I get to shoot weddings of people who have seen me at other weddings. Word of mouth. Referrals. Call it whatever you like, it’s pretty cool. but more than that it’s the getting to see folk who I photographed some years ago and how their lives have moved on, and others whose lives are taking that next step. I photographed Martha and Will’s wedding some years ago, so when Martha’s sister Harriet reached out and said “it’s our turn” I jumped at the chance. Plus getting to go back to Bigstrup Farm is always a good thing.

Set in the Buckinghamshire countryside, Bigstrup Farm is the family home of Harriet and Martha (and their one billion brothers and sisters, ha!) and Harriet and Tim were really keen to have the farm play some part in the day. Harriet got ready there surrounded by the loved ones, I helped myself to pastries (photographers prerogative I’m afraid) before we then headed for central Oxford and St Aloysius Church for the ceremony. Harriet had to arrive in the family Land Rover of course, while Tims pal drove him in just about the coolest Aston Martin ever. You can’t get more different than that.

The ceremony was the full catholic affair, and the grandeur of the church really contrasted the rustic and rural feel of Bigstrup. I love that. We wandered a little around the streets near the church for some pics before heading back to the farm for some food, some drink, a LOT of dancing, and just the best bunch of people you could ever hope to meet. And to cap ot all I got some samosas for the drive home. Win!

Here’s Harriet and Tim’s wedding as I saw it.
