Rustic Farm Wedding In Hampshire

A wedding on the parents farm // Amy and Alan // Hampshire

There’s so much to love about a DIY wedding. It never fails to blow my mind just how creative some people can be, and what they can come up with when others would think them insane. I visited Amy and Alan’s “venue” (aka Amy’s parents house/goat farm/land) to do a pre-wedding shoot for them, and I’ve got to say it looked nothing like what they created. How they turned the barn into a place fit for a wedding is beyond me. But I guess that’s why I love shooting farm and DIY weddings so much, because I am always surprised, inspired, and amazed.

Amy naturally got ready in the house, while watching over the driveway to spot Alan and the guys arriving. It was like they were teenage girls on a sleepover, all giggling at the sight of the boys. Grow up ladies. Ha! But it was so sweet, and just fun. I had a blast and Amy and her parents made me feel like one of the family. I managed to nip between the guys and the girls all morning, capturing the build up, before we headed to the field where the ceremony would take place. A celebrant led ceremony, led by Sam of SD Celebrations followed, rings were passed, some kissing happened, and confetti exploded. All a bit of a blur.

Then it was time for drinks, food (oh my days, the food!), and dancing, all under the summer skies. It was a little bit of heaven.

Here’s Amy and Alan’s wedding on a farm as I saw it.
